Continuing the journey of "Sowing the seeds of love and spreading happiness," members of Masi, along with meaningful gifts, continued their journey to Long Hoa Pagoda, one of the places that provides care and nurtures children in Ho Chi Minh City. This event took place on August 24th, 2023.
Long Hoa Pagoda
Chua Long Hoa is located at 1250/41 (formerly 60/7) Huynh Tan Phat Street, Phu My Ward, District 7, Ho Chi Minh City. The pagoda, founded in 1902, became an orphanage and school for orphans by 1995. It is managed by Venerable Thich Lang Huynh and cares for 70 children, mostly boys aged 3 and older: twenty are in primary school, 15 in secondary school, and the rest in vocational institutions.
We visit the children at midday, the pagoda filled with the laughter of the children. The Buddhist monks shared, "Some of the children have difficult situations; others just have a mother, and they are unable to provide adequate care. They chose to send them here.
Gifts from Masi
In addition, the pagoda provides opportunities for the children to attend school with their peers and pays all related costs. In addition, there is a library here, sponsored by Singapore, to support their academic pursuits. The greatest desire of Buddhist priests and nuns is to see children grow up healthy, successful, and flourishing as individuals. The Buddhist priests reveal, "There are volunteers at the school who take care of everything, including cooking, laundry, and bathing. The majority of living expenses are covered by donations from Buddhist followers and generous individuals; there is presently no formal funding source."
We are grateful for the Buddhist priests who consistently nurture and care for the children. Buddhist monks and nuns at the pagoda, along with Buddhist followers and nearby residents, continue to make daily efforts to care for and educate the children, guiding them to become virtuous and beneficial members of society despite confronting numerous obstacles.
Masi is one of the leading fishmeal distributors in Vietnam. Our development has concentrated on business activities and spreading positive energy to grow the community. With love, generosity, and compassion, We have brought gifts to support and share some of the challenges with the Buddhist monks at the pagoda in their endeavor to care for and nurture the children here.
Sowing the seeds of love and spreading happiness
We hope that gifts will bring joy to the children here, encouraging them to overcome challenges and strive for a better life. It is our main motivation for becoming better, allowing us to share more challenges, sow seeds of love, and bring more children happiness.
