Masi Engages in MarinTrust Training on Sustainable Fisheries Practices
On July 24, 2025, Kim Long Factory (a member of the Masi ecosystem) participated in the MarinTrust Standard and IUU Practices Training. The program was organized by the Bà Rịa – Vũng Tàu Fishmeal & Fish Oil Association in collaboration with the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Agriculture & Environment, the Vũng Tàu Trawl Fishery FIP and SGS Vietnam.
The program gathered around 60 delegates. They included representatives from fishmeal and fish oil companies, fishing ports, vessel owners, regulatory agencies from Ho Chi Minh City, Bình Thuận, Kiên Giang, and Cà Mau. The training provided updates on the MarinTrust international standard, which sets requirements for sustainable and responsible fisheries. It also strengthened participants’ capacity to combat IUU (Illegal, Unreported, Unregulated) fishing, a key condition for entering international markets.
Experts note that MarinTrust is not only a “passport” for fish, fishmeal, and fish oil products to access strict global markets. It also demonstrates a company’s commitment to protecting marine environments, maintaining fishery resources and promoting responsible fishing practices.

Within this framework, Kim Long Factory participated in the training as a key step to strengthen management skills, technical capacity and awareness among its workforce. As one of the largest fishmeal and fish oil processing factories in Bình Thuận (now part of Lâm Đồng Province), Kim Long prioritizes product quality, transparency of raw material sources and compliance with international standards. By actively learning, updating knowledge and implementing MarinTrust standards, Kim Long demonstrates its commitment to supporting the business community in enhancing the value of Vietnam’s seafood supply chain.
Participation in the program extends beyond short-term goals and carries long-term significance for Masi, of which Kim Long is a key member. It demonstrates a clear commitment to sustainable, responsible, and globally integrated development. By aiming for recognized international certifications such as MarinTrust and MSC, Masi seeks to enhance competitive advantage and expand export markets.
Kim Long’s presence at the conference highlights Masi’s leadership role in supporting fishers and the business community. It promotes deeper international integration of Vietnam’s fisheries and fosters sustainable development. This initiative represents an important step in building a global reputation for responsible and high-quality Vietnamese seafood.
